Here’s one

Single, $80,000, 5% state, paid every two weeks

Single, $80,000, 5% state, paid every two weeks. Federal tax uses the 2026 standard deduction. FICA is Social Security up to the $184,500 wage base, plus Medicare. State tax is 5% of the gross because that’s what you typed. The paycheck is the yearly leftover divided by 26.

How it works

Gross, minus federal income tax, minus employee FICA, minus your state percent of the gross. Divide by how often you’re paid.

Where this comes from

Federal income tax uses the 2026 brackets and the standard deduction. Social Security and Medicare use the employee rates in Publication 15. The state line is the percent you type, because states do not share one rule.

Good for

Sketching a paycheck. Your employer’s number will move once benefits and credits show up.
