Quarterly estimated tax calculator
Expected taxable income, and any withholding you already expect. We run the income through the 2026 brackets, take off that withholding, and split what’s left into four equal payments. This is not the IRS “safe harbor” worksheet, and it doesn’t include self-employment tax.
Result

Not the IRS safe-harbor worksheet. Self-employment tax is not in here.
Here’s one
Single, $63,900 taxable, no withholding
Filing single with $63,900 of taxable income and no withholding, the yearly tax is just the ordinary tax on that income. Each payment is a quarter of it. If withholding already covers the tax, the quarterly amount is zero.
How it works
Yearly tax from the 2026 brackets, minus the withholding you typed. Split the rest by four. It won’t go below zero.
Where this comes from
We run taxable income through the 2026 brackets, subtract the withholding you expect, and divide by four. That is not the IRS safe-harbor worksheet, and it leaves out self-employment tax. The payment rules are on the estimated tax page.
Good for
Splitting a federal guess into four equal checks. Look up the voucher dates yourself.
