Markup calculator
Markup is “I paid this, I add this percent.” Type both. You’ll see the extra dollars, the selling price, and what that works out to as a margin. Those two percents are not the same thing.
Switches the symbol. The number you typed stays put.

Here’s one
50% markup on a $40 cost
Half of $40 is $20, so you’d sell at $60. That $20 is a third of the selling price, about 33%, even though the markup was 50%. Same dollars, smaller percent, because margin looks at the price, not the cost.
How it works
We add your markup percent on top of the cost. Then we look at those extra dollars as a share of the price you’d charge. That’s the margin.
Good for
Wholesale pricing, a shop quote, or any time someone says “we mark it up 40%.”
